Give Them Wings - The Movie

  Like many other twenty something’s, Paul is an avid football fan, desperate for independence away from his childhood home. In a world of adversity after his childhood meningitis battle, bound to a wheelchair and stifled by his father, Norman, this is not like any other story.

After Paul and his mother, Alice, leave home, her stroke and Alzheimer’s diagnosis brings his world once again crashing down but still determined that she will never be left alone in a care home. Help arrives in the form of Jane. However, as they grow closer in such a volatile and delicate balance, their emotions betray them and complications ensue. Paul reluctantly ends their relationship before his mother’s untimely death pulls him into the depths of despair, facing no other way out than an overdose.

However, through the unrelenting passionate support of friends, football and the renewed perspective of his father, he overcomes his demons for a truly uplifting and extraordinary finale.
